Gifted program at Eustis Heights Elementary

The Lake County School District believes that academically gifted students require a unique and exciting opportunity to replace, supplement, enrich, and extend learning beyond the general curriculum. Eustis Heights Elementary is the designated center school for the area’s kindergarten through fifth grade students. Students in the primary grades (K-2) attend a resource class every Tuesday. Students in the intermediate grades (3-5) have the opportunity to attend full-time gifted classes five days per week.

Our highly qualified teachers of the gifted provide a rigorous academic program that utilizes differentiated instruction and flexible grouping. Gifted students are given opportunities to interact with students of similar abilities so that they may explore subjects and issues in depth. They are given opportunities to develop higher level thinking, critical thinking, divergent thinking, problem-solving, communication, leadership, group dynamics, research, and independent study skills.
